Certificate in Refugee & Forced Migration Issues Subsidy Application

The Certificate in Refugee and Forced Migration Issues Subsidy Application provides awards to students who require financial assistance. While other issues may be considerations, the main criterion is financial need.

Eligibility

  • Members of NGOs as well as individuals who work with refugees and forced migrants and who are not otherwise eligible for PET funding may apply;
  • Decisions will be based on the financial situation of the applicant;
  • The applicant's involvement in organizations pertaining to refugees and forced migrants and the length of involvement (i.e. work experience) will be considered;
  • Demonstrated involvement and commitment shown by volunteers associated with an organization concerned with refugees and forced migrants;
  • Priority will be given to applicants who are currently active in the field (this includes newcomers to Canada who have been recently active in their countries of origin, and would now need to get their Canadian experience).
